Rev. Fr, Silvio Pasquali PIME of the Hyderabad Diocese founded the Congregation of the Catechist Sisters of St. Ann, at Mattampally Village, Nalgonda Dist. in the year 1918. The Batch of seven indigenous candidates made their first profession on 26th July, 1921.
Later, Dionizio Vismara, The Bishop of Hyderabad Diocese erected the Diocesan Congregation of the Catechist Sisters of St.Ann on 12-03-1943. On 5th January 1954, the 1st General Chapter elected Rev. Sr. Enrechitta Thathi Reddy as Superior General. It is an apostolic and religious society. All the members are bound by Evangelical vows of Chastity, Poverty and Obedience. Rural apostolate was their founder’s cherished task.They commit themselves by the religious witness with the purpose of Evangelizing and Catechizing through the following apostolic concerns.
Now CSA is spread to the states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu nationally and to the countries of Tanzania and Italy internationally.
The Congregation is running 75 schools, 13 colleges including Junior, Degree, P.G, B.Ed, D.Ed., B. Pharmacy, M. Pharmacy, I.T.I and School of nursing, Hospitals, Dispensaries, Social Service centers and Home for the aged are being taken up by them. Nearly 55,000 students are being imparted the knowledge through these educational institutions.
St.E.A.S. High School is also one such educational institution established by the CSA Hyderabad in village Kisannagar, Balkonda in Nizamabad Dist.
St.E.A.S. High School was started on 14th June 1964 with three students and two Nuns.Rev.Fr. Dhanraj Mulaguri with the co-operation of Sri. V.K. Reddy, who is the pioneer of Kisannagar village, donated 2 acres of land and piloted the institution just beside the national highway-44 in Kisannagar village. Rev.Sr.Tharcisia and Rev.Sr.J.Bethena who studied in USA, suggested the name Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, who is an American Saint to our school.
We are very proud to say it is the first English medium school in rural area in our Dist.
